Let's celebrate the 4th with this beautiful couples engagement shoot, we recently styled the flowers and table setting for at Flying Callabos Guest Ranch in San Luis Obispo. Krysta, the bride, is the coordinator at Flying Callabos and along with her finance Eric, they were a perfect Americana boho couple for the shoot captured perfectly by Mirelle Carmichael Photography. I love their story of how they met and fell in love, which you can read here on the Green Wedding Shoes blog feature up today! We are so thrilled Green Wedding Shoes is sharing this feature with their followers and we hope lots of fun inspiration can be pulled from it, for your 4th of July or any Americana themed parties.
For the flowers, the Americana color palette served as inspiration and for the boho look we mixed in textured flowers and foliages, such as the white blooming artichokes, representative of fireworks, red summer dahlias and protea pin cushions to add pop, along with whimsical blooms including icelantic poppies, white veronica and trailing foliages.
The bouquet included gorgeous red peonies, California grown proteas, sweet peas, and explosion grass to give it texture and movement.
I fell in love with their dog, she was so adorable and with the flower collar, stole my heart! I love making these and it's a great way to dress up your pup for a wedding or engagement shoot!
For the table setting we used our vintage cups filled with cherries, because that just screams summer picnics! We also used my mom's beautiful glass and copper pitcher, (what an amazing antique sale find that was), crystal champagne flutes with floating blueberries and then just touches of potted succulents.
The table runner was such a cool American scarf that is available from Pretty Dirty Hippie - such a versatile piece that could be used to decorate or used to style your wardrobe.
