French Style Magazine Feature

June, 2016

To say that I was thrilled to pick-up a copy of the French Style Magazine at the grocery store to find a 6-page spread on our floral designs, is an understatement. I dreamed of being in print magazines when I first started this business 12 years ago and this summer you can find our work in two national magazines (Inside Weddings, being the second). If you have a chance pick-up the magazine it's got great tips on designs simple arrangements for your home and parties! Here is one excerpt:

Q: Could you provide some insight into what you think makes a good arrangement:
Floral arrangements can be simple and beautiful with just a few flowers, but creating depth in the arrangement with a lot of elements and textures is a great way to take it to a new level. I rarely create an arrangement with only one type of foliage, I like to mix in a few different textures from greenery and use some type of berries or fruit, it gives the arrangement a little more interest and is a simple thing to do to elevate the design, even if you are only using one type of flower.

"There’s still plenty of time to pull together a New Year’s Eve cocktail party and Tinker Tin and Sidecar Cocktail Co. are about to show us how. Their aspirational editorial, captured by Mirelle Carmichael, is filled with custom craft cocktails and a sleek, modern ambience.  The vendor pair has recently partnered up, taking its craft cocktail program to the road with a newly designed 1961 Shasta Bar trailer. A popular cocktail bar and restaurant on the California’s Central Coast, Sidecar is excited to now offer full service cocktail catering services for weddings and events out of their retro chic trailer! Below, snag some ideas for hosting a Mid-Century inspired NYE cocktail soiree; the perfect way to cheer to the end of 2015 with your closest family + friends...The gorgeous, lush florals were crafted by Noonan’s Wine Country Designs."

"My idea of weddings, of love, ALWAYS involves a story. So our story here happens to be inspired by a song made by Bjork called "Bachelorette", about a woman named "Isobel", also another song created by Bjork. Isobel is a woman who grew up in the forest, then decided to explore the city. In the city she falls in love, only to realize that she does not belong, and decides to return to the forest. She is brave, she is innocent, she is kind, she is love and more importantly, she is strong."

"From Noonan’s Wine Country Designs…We see so many combinations of blush and creams with wedding flowers, which is beautiful, but we wanted to provide inspiration for couples with a new color palette that gives the same soft and romantic feel but with a little more color. This shoot incorporated the dusty pastel hues of mauve, lavender and even foliages which give a dusty grey and lavender color. For the flowers we used some less commonly seen blooms like the hellebores in antique, astrantia in the mauve colors which give movement and delicacy to the arrangements and then mixed in some of your more commonly used flowers, like the amnesia roses, pink lace garden spray roses and foliages like the fern and jasmine vine to soften the look."

"We wouldn’t throw the term ‘Vanity Fair inspired wedding’ around lightly, but Kimberly + Joshua’s edgy, not-so-traditional San Luis Obispo ranch wedding truly lives up to the rockstar description. Kimberly wore a stu-nning black wedding dress by Vera Wang, yet walked down the aisle to Billy Idol’s White Wedding. Talk about turning traditions upside down! ;) The day was filled with all the right elements: southern-inspired florals (think magnolias, oleanders, honey suckle + wisteria), Cajun eats, delish cocktails (blackberry juleps, corpse revivers, old fashioneds, and Moscow mules) and, of course, lots of fun...Noonan’s Wine Country Designs did a lovely job adding greenery + white blooms to the rustic barn space."

"This piece of pretty has pastel perfection written all over it. Cotton candy? Check! Confetti filled balloons? Check! Funfetti sprinkle cake? Check! Blush coupe champagne tower? Check! From soft pastel Noonan’s Wine Country Designs blooms, to big blue skies, to the pool-side lounging a la Bon Puf, every sweet detail coordinated by Lovelyfest Event Design was seamlessly captured by Kelsea Holderhere."

"Having recently opened a California office in San Luis Obispo, the crew at Karson Butler Events was excited to design an editorial to showcase this gorgeous region + their new stomping grounds! Aiming to prove that ranch + vineyard weddings don’t always have to be overly rustic, they infused the setting at Biddle Ranch House with a sense of elegance that just can’t be beat...Noonan’s Designs crafted the most perfect florals for the occasion. We’re majorly crushing on that lush protea bouquet!"

"Our eyes seem to be drawn to bouquets more than almost any other detail when we check out a wedding for the first time. Does the same thing happen for you? Flowers are one of our most favorite things + we love how even bouquets comprised of similar blooms can be arranged to look completely unique. We majorly love lush, textural bouquets and it’s safe to say 2014 was a breakout year when it came to floral creativity. Let’s have a look at our favorite bouquets from the past twelve months (in no particular order) below…(3) This cascading coral ombré bouquet from this Coral + Rose Gold Wedding Inspiration // bouquet by Noonan’s Wine Country Designs + photo by Mirelle Carmichael."

"Friends, your Monday is about to get a whole lot brighter thanks to Mirelle Carmichael + Noonan’s Wine Country Designs. This colorful shoot features two of our most fave hues, coral + rose gold, and does it oh-so well. And we’re pretty smitten with all of the unique design elements the team infused, too. From the tasseled details seen throughout – everywhere from the invites, to the jewelry to the boutonniere! – to the crazy awesome floral arrangements, we think you’ll agree that there is definitely no shortage of pretty to pin + be inspired by!"

"A day embracing all things red, white, and blue was more than fitting for this fun couple who are both from California, but met in Hawaii. Two free spirits who really embrace life + all the adventure and beauty the US has to offer. When styling the setting, Kate from Noonan’s Wine Country Designs really ran with the Americana theme, taking the color palette to the next level with textured flowers and foliages, that felt representative of fireworks, gracing the table for two set up on ranch’s historic bridge. And, of course, it was a must for the shoot to end with this cute couple lounging on the front porch, sparklers in hand! Love it!"

"Before you even take one peek at the prettiness below, I’m going to warn you – the flowers you are about to see will knock your wedding-loving socks off. They are unlike anything I’ve ever seen and have been dancing around in my dreams since the moment I set my sights on their show-stopping stems. The master behind the blooms? The Bride herself, owner of Noonan’s Wine Country Designs. I officially tip my hat to this lovely lady, in full admiration, because she not only created a masterpiece of a wedding, but one that is as intimate as they come. See so much more here."

"Surrounded by flowers since she was a child in Sonoma County, Katie Noonan, fell in love with nature. Her father, an arborist and her mother, an avid gardener, cultivated beautiful flowers around their home. Katie recalls picking flowers from her mother's garden, but didn't realize her passion until she took a floral design course offered at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She followed in her father's footsteps by attending Cal Poly. Through a campus club called Student American Institute of Floral Designers, Katie become active in floral designing. As a college senior, Katie worked at a floral shop on State Street in Santa Barbara. The owner, Michael Quesada, had connections to Cal Poly. While working there, she designed up to ten wedding floral arrangements in a weekend. Katie eventually graduated from Cal Poly with an agricultural business degree."

"Our floral designer, Katie Noonan of Noonan’s Wine Country Designs, used peacock feathers in all centerpieces, bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres and suggested I go with a deep purple as an accent color to complement the blue bridesmaids dresses from Jenny Yoo and tie in the jewel toned colors in the peacock feathers. She had the idea of using bleached feathers for my bouquet, bridal table and hairpiece."
